Since 2017 we have been selling ham, cheese and wine at the bar and over the counter in Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga). What you buy here comes from that same shop.
02
We slice the ham thinly ourselves and vacuum pack it. That keeps it fresh for weeks, ready to serve without fuss.
03
No vague terms: every ham shows its official label colour and what the pig ate. The pack label is in Dutch too.
How to read the label
Since 2014 every Spanish Ibérico ham carries a coloured label that tells you what the pig ate and how Iberian it was. That way you can see at a glance what you are buying.
Black
Bellota 100% ibérico
Purebred Iberian pig, fed on acorns and grass during the montanera. Only this ham may be called "pata negra".
Red
Bellota ibérico
Also acorns and grass in the dehesa, but from a cross: 50% or 75% Iberian breed.
Green
Cebo de campo ibérico
Raised outdoors, fed on grains and legumes, plus grass and whatever the field offers.
White
Cebo ibérico
Iberian pig raised on the farm, fed on grains and legumes.
Why “Anjoreta”?
Our shop in Málaga is called Ibéricos Añoreta, after the Añoreta area of Rincón de la Victoria. Dutch has no ñ, but it has the nj, which sounds exactly the same. That is how Añoreta became Anjoreta in the Netherlands: same family, same ham.
